Happy New Year y'all!
This is a quick little update to how we are all doing. We are all doing well, the kids are doing pretty good after their surgery they had in October. Though we did have complications with Sammy which had him end up in the ER the first day back to school from fall break. Now, Sammy has finished one semester of kindergarten and he is now starting to read. His math skills are really his strength, but that makes sense because numbers are a little easier to understand and pick up easier. We still have to struggle with him at times to do his homework, especially the writing portions. He has his good moments and his not so good moments. He started Karate in late November and is progressing well, he is a white belt now and will be testing shortly for his next belt.
Maya is now potty trained. YEAH!!!! She is even sleeping through the night and not having any accidents. She went to a bone specialist yesterday and they are projecting her to be 5 feet tall. Jason is not too concerned because all the Schnee Women haven't necessarily been tall, but they are fiesty and she is a little spitfire.
Jason is staying very busy with his work in CEA and AEA. He just came back from Austin, TX for the Western Regional Leadership Conference. Here he made up his mind to run for Vice President of AEA, the state union in 2010. You may think, why is he declaring now? Well, it will take a while to put this campaign together and get the support and necessary information out to the members to get elected. Karen is supportive of this.
She is looking to do her real estate classes again and pursue her real estate license. She loves teaching, but some of the things we in education are having to deal with from outside factors is starting to try on us. After teaching for 11 years she isn't where she wants to be and she wants to pursue this as well.
Talk with you all later
