Happy Father's Day 2007

I spent my fathers day with my kids and enjoyed it tremendously. We went to go see the new movie "Surf's Up" and spent $30 for all four of us to go and to have concessions. The movie was really a nice movie for the kids to be at. Maya who is 2 and a half sat through a good portion of the movie, not quite all the way though.

After the movie we let the kids run around outside of the movie theater for a while to get their energy off. We then went out to lunch for Father's Day and had wings, yes, that is right, even after I had wings for dinner two or more times last week when I was teaching in Tucson, I wanted it again. We then came home and rested for a while with the kids taking a nap and then I started to work on building my birthday gift and father's day gift, which was a new BBQ. Karen woke Sammy up after a little while and had him come out and "help" me :-) Yes he actually did help in the first few parts of it, by holding things together for me and getting me my power screwdriver to put the sides together. We finished this project 2 hours after it was started and it works nicely. Tomorrow, we are having Karen's dad over for a BBQ for Father's day and will really test it out then. The grill is twice as large as the other one Jason I had. This one has four burners in the main grilling area, an area for rotisserie and a side burner as well. The propane tank sits underneath. This is a CharBroil Grill.

I also had to do some updating to our blog here. If you haven't noticed on the sidebar, you will now see a badge of photos from my flickr account. So when you are at our blog you can also see our pictures we have been taking and posting. When we visited my family earlier this summer Sammy and I had a chance to go to an Angels game with my dad and Anthony, my nephew. Sammy also received a foul ball hit by Orlando Cabrerra of the Anaheim Angels (yes I still call them this because they will always be this to me, not the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) from a person who caught sitting next to us. Once we came back from Southern California and visiting the beach, which you must take a peak at our pictures from this, it was an awesome trip, I had a few days at home before I had to leave for Tucson. This time I am home for about a two weeks before I leave again to go to Philadelphia for the National Education Association Representative Assembly.

Well, for now this is it. I must go and see how Maya is doing after I had to close her door because she wasn't staying in her bed and kept getting out of room when it was time to sleep. She was spoiled when I was out of town along with Sammy being able to fall asleep in my room or in my bed then move to their rooms after by Karen carrying them.

Camp Plug and Play 2.0

Well hello to all! I have been away from blogging for a bit here just with school ending and me being elected to the AEA board of directors and all. I am actually now on summer break and how am I spending it? Working!!! Of course because this is what I do. But this is something I really do enjoy a lot. I am in Tucson, AZ at the AZ K-12 Center's Camp Plug and Play 2.0 otherwise known as Tech Camp. Yes, that is right I am teaching down here. You may ask, what have I been teaching. I am teaching other teachers from across Arizona how to build and manage their own websites using a program called NVU. If you would like to download it because it is open source and is a basic WYSIWYG editor then click here

I have also had the priveledge of hearing a great guest speaker and working with great company. Tony Vincent who presented last year when I was working down here at tech camp is here again. He has been showing us many things, such as how to create blogs (something I already knew, but I learned how to enhance my blog even better), podcasting--searching for it. He has also show us how to subscribe to many different blogs and then to categorize them in a program called Bloglines. I think I will start to use this to keep up to date with many different blogs, like e-mail. He also showed a cool little widget which we can put onto any web page which includes our own blog, it is from grazr.

Well, that's it for now I am going to head out to the jacuzzi and meet with other participants and trainers to talk about the day. See you later.

Jason
